ABOUT ME

I’m a recent graduate with a BFA in Communication Design and a minor in Human-Computer Interaction from Washington University in St. Louis. In my work, I strive to explore a diverse range of narratives, perspectives, and approaches through a variety of media, and I’m particularly passionate about the intersection between physical and digital media.

Recently, I’ve been interested in the nuances of multilingual typography and how the characteristics of different languages’ letterforms can be leveraged to enhance a concept across multiple linguistic demographics. Outside of my work, I love stories in any form, whether that means books, movies, or music. Lately, I’ve been watching Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and listening to Rat Boy.

KENWORTH PARTS & SERVICE: HOW IT WORKS

I had the opportunity to work on rebranding the How It Works series for the Kenworth Parts & Service Instagram. This involved leveraging their existing brand assets in a way that felt more modern and fresh, while reconsidering the content format to adapt to Instagram Reels.

DEVELOPMENT

The How It Works series consists of a set of three graphics that advertise different trucking parts each month, so I had to create a set of graphics that could accommodate a diverse range of parts and dimensions. I decided to introduce some perspective to the Kenworth stripes in order to leverage them as a framing device and add dimension. I also pulled in some of the brand’s gradients to add another layer of texture.

To integrate the series into Instagram Reels, I concepted a storyboard to animate the graphic elements into a looping video. I then prepped the assets for animation and created animation file templates for other designers to modify easily each month. I also designed thumbnails for each reel, and helped apply the new brand system to various other videos on their social media.
